For the fall of 2017, Little River Farm is offering a weekly bag share.
The share will begin the week of October 16 and end the the week of December 18 (10 weeks). Cost: $280
Weekly Pickup Locations
The insulated CSA bags will be packed on Friday, and placed in a cooler at one of our pickup locations. Please let us know by email which of the following locations and times work best for you:
Fridays at Pat’s Pastured 3-6PM
Saturdays at Pat’s Pastured 9AM-1PM
Saturdays at Little River Farm 8AM-2PM
Due to the poor condition of the access road at Little River Farm, a cooler will be placed near the end of the road. Please park on the side of William Reynolds road. After picking up your box, check your name off the checklist. If you are unable to make it to a pickup location that week, please let us know ahead of time and we will hold your bag in our walk-in-cooler.
What’s In the Bag?
In your bag you can expect one large bag of salad greens, 2 lbs storage crops (onions/carrots/potatoes), one clove garlic, and a bunch of greens (chard/bok-choi/ kale) every week. Depending on the surplus of that particular week, we will include a combination of the following: leeks, spinach, beets, radishes, arugula, parsley, salad turnips and head lettuce. Until the first heavy frost we will have tomatoes/peppers/eggplant. After the frost we will include a rotation of specialty winter vegetables (shallots, celeriac, kohlrabi, endive, radicchio, daikon radish, watermelon radish, dandelion greens, winter squash)
For the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas expect extra storage crops and winter squash to accommodate the holiday feasts!
